1. Introduction

Welcome to Silvermop Cleaners (“Silvermop”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, mobile platforms, customer support channels, quotations, bookings, subscriptions and professional cleaning services.

By using our website, requesting a quotation, booking any service, making payment, or engaging Silvermop in any capacity, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and agree to be legally bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you should not use our website or engage our services.

2. About Silvermop

Silvermop Cleaners is a professional cleaning company headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria, providing residential and commercial cleaning solutions including, but not limited to:

  • Residential Cleaning
  • Office Cleaning
  • Commercial Cleaning
  • Janitorial Services
  • Event Cleaning
  • Post-Construction Cleaning
  • Furniture & Upholstery Cleaning
  • Laundry Services
  • Deep Cleaning
  • Move-in & Move-out Cleaning
  • Specialised Cleaning Services

Our services may be offered directly by Silvermop or through authorised employees, contractors or approved service partners.

3. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms apply to every person or organisation that:

  • visits our website;
  • requests a quotation;
  • books any cleaning service;
  • subscribes to recurring cleaning plans;
  • purchases a Silvermop service;
  • communicates with us through email, telephone, WhatsApp, social media or any other official communication channel.

By continuing to use any Silvermop service, you confirm that you accept these Terms in full.

4. Eligibility

To engage Silvermop’s services, you must:

  • be at least eighteen (18) years old;
  • possess the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under Nigerian law;
  • provide accurate booking and contact information;
  • be authorised to engage cleaning services for the premises in question.

If booking on behalf of a company, school, church, organisation or other entity, you warrant that you have authority to bind that entity.

5. Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms:

  • Booking means any confirmed request for services made through our website, email, telephone, WhatsApp or any authorised Silvermop representative.
  • Client means any individual, company or organisation engaging Silvermop.
  • Premises means any residential, commercial, industrial or public property where our services are provided.
  • Service Fee means the agreed amount payable for any Silvermop service.
  • Subscription Plan means any recurring cleaning arrangement agreed between Silvermop and the Client.
  • Working Hours means the agreed cleaning period communicated before commencement of the service.

6. Scope of Services

Silvermop provides professional cleaning services tailored to each client’s requirements.

Services may include:

  • Residential Cleaning
  • Routine household cleaning, deep cleaning, move-in cleaning, move-out cleaning, spring cleaning, apartment cleaning and luxury home care.
  • Office & Commercial Cleaning
  • Cleaning offices, commercial buildings, retail outlets, showrooms, banks, healthcare facilities, educational institutions and other workplaces.
  • Janitorial Services
  • Daily, weekly or customised janitorial services including restroom sanitation, waste disposal, floor care, replenishment of consumables and common area maintenance.
  • Event Cleaning
  • Cleaning before, during and after corporate events, weddings, conferences, exhibitions, concerts, religious gatherings and private events.
  • Post-Construction Cleaning
  • Removal of construction dust, debris, paint residue, cement stains, adhesives and other post-build contaminants from newly completed or renovated properties.
  • Furniture Cleaning
  • Professional cleaning of sofas, chairs, mattresses, upholstery, curtains and other fabric furnishings using appropriate methods and equipment.
  • Laundry Services
  • Professional washing, drying, ironing and folding of garments, linens and household fabrics, subject to garment care requirements and our Laundry Service Policy.

Additional specialised services may be introduced from time to time and will be subject to these Terms unless otherwise stated.

7. Quotations

All quotations issued by Silvermop are based on the information provided by the Client.

A quotation may change if:

  • the scope of work changes;
  • additional cleaning requirements arise;
  • the property differs materially from the description provided;
  • additional rooms or areas are added;
  • access restrictions increase the complexity of the work.

Unless otherwise stated, quotations remain valid for thirty (30) days from the date of issue.

8. Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed only after:

  • Silvermop accepts the booking request;
  • the Client confirms the proposed schedule; and
  • any required deposit or advance payment has been received.

Silvermop reserves the right to decline bookings where resources are unavailable or where the requested services fall outside our operational capabilities.

9. Service Areas

Silvermop currently operates primarily within Lagos State.

Services outside Lagos may be accepted at our discretion and may attract additional transportation, accommodation or logistics charges.

10. Amendments to Services

Clients may request changes to their booking before service commencement.

Where changes increase labour, equipment, materials or time required, additional charges may apply.

Silvermop will notify the Client of any revised pricing before proceeding with the amended services.

11. Pricing and Payment

11.1 All service fees shall be communicated to the Client before work commences.

11.2 Prices are determined based on several factors, including but not limited to:

  • Property size;
  • Number of rooms or work areas;
  • Type of cleaning service requested;
  • Level of dirt, debris or contamination;
  • Required manpower;
  • Equipment and specialised machinery;
  • Cleaning products and consumables;
  • Duration of the service; and
  • Location of the premises.

11.3 Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all quotations are exclusive of any additional services requested after work has commenced.

11.4 Full payment may be required before, upon completion of, or in accordance with the payment terms agreed with the Client.

11.5 Silvermop reserves the right to request a deposit before confirming any booking.

11.6 Corporate clients operating under approved credit arrangements shall comply with the payment terms specified in their service agreement.

11.7 Late payments may attract administrative charges and/or suspension of future services.

12. Cancellation and Rescheduling

12.1 Clients may cancel or reschedule a booking by contacting Silvermop through any official communication channel.

12.2 Cancellation requests received:

  • more than 72 hours before the scheduled appointment may be rescheduled without penalty;
  • less than 48 hours before the appointment may attract a cancellation fee.

12.3 If Silvermop staff arrive at the premises and are unable to commence work due to the Client’s absence, denial of access, incomplete renovations, unsafe conditions or any reason beyond our control, the visit may be treated as a late cancellation.

12.4 Silvermop reserves the right to reschedule appointments due to weather conditions, equipment failure, staff illness, public emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances.

13. Client Responsibilities

To ensure efficient service delivery, Clients agree to:

  • provide accurate booking information;
  • ensure lawful access to the premises;
  • disclose any hazards that may affect our staff;
  • secure confidential documents;
  • remove cash, jewellery, firearms, artwork and other valuables before cleaning begins;
  • provide access to electricity and running water where reasonably required;
  • notify us of fragile or delicate items requiring special handling.

Failure to comply may affect the quality or completion of the service.

14. Access to the Premises

The Client shall ensure that Silvermop personnel can access the premises at the agreed time.

Where access keys, access cards, gate codes or security credentials are provided, they shall be used solely for the purpose of delivering the agreed services.

Silvermop shall exercise reasonable care in safeguarding any access credentials entrusted to us.

15. Health and Safety

Silvermop is committed to maintaining safe working practices.

Accordingly:

  • our staff may refuse to perform work in unsafe environments;
  • services may be suspended where conditions pose risks to health or safety;
  • Clients must disclose hazardous materials, dangerous animals, structural defects or other risks before service commencement.

Silvermop reserves the right to discontinue services where continued performance would expose our personnel to unreasonable danger.

16. Cleaning Equipment and Products

Silvermop supplies professional cleaning equipment and products unless otherwise agreed.

Where the Client requests the use of specific cleaning products supplied by the Client:

  • Silvermop shall not be responsible for the effectiveness of such products;
  • the Client warrants that the products are suitable and lawful to use.

Silvermop strives to use environmentally responsible cleaning products whenever reasonably practicable.

17. Furniture, Upholstery and Laundry Services

Certain stains, odours, fabric discolouration, shrinkage or material deterioration may be permanent and cannot be removed through professional cleaning.

Silvermop does not guarantee complete stain removal where:

  • staining has permanently bonded with fibres;
  • previous cleaning attempts have altered the fabric;
  • damage existed before service;
  • manufacturer defects are present.

Clients must notify us of delicate fabrics, antique furniture or items requiring specialist treatment.

Laundry services are performed in accordance with garment care instructions where available.

Silvermop shall not be liable for deterioration resulting from pre-existing wear, manufacturer defects or inaccurate care labels.

18. Post-Construction Cleaning

Clients engaging post-construction cleaning services acknowledge that:

  • construction sites may contain hazardous materials;
  • builders should complete major construction activities before cleaning begins;
  • significant additional debris may require revised pricing.

Silvermop reserves the right to suspend work where construction activities continue during scheduled cleaning.

19. Event Cleaning

Event cleaning services may include:

  • pre-event preparation;
  • cleaning during the event;
  • restroom maintenance;
  • waste collection;
  • post-event clean-up.

The Client shall provide:

  • event schedule;
  • venue access;
  • emergency contact details;
  • relevant venue regulations.

Additional charges may apply where event duration exceeds the agreed schedule.

20. Commercial and Corporate Cleaning

Corporate clients may enter into separate service agreements containing:

  • Service Level Agreements (SLAs);
  • confidentiality obligations;
  • reporting procedures;
  • payment schedules;
  • dedicated account management;
  • customised cleaning specifications.

Where any inconsistency exists between these Terms and an executed corporate agreement, the corporate agreement shall prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.

21. Customer Satisfaction

Silvermop is committed to delivering high-quality cleaning services.

If a Client believes that agreed services have not been completed satisfactorily, they should notify us within twenty-four (24) hours of service completion.

Where appropriate, Silvermop may, at its discretion:

  • revisit the premises;
  • rectify the identified issue; or
  • provide another reasonable remedy.

This commitment applies only where the reported issue relates to the agreed scope of work and has not resulted from subsequent use of the premises.

22. Property Damage

Silvermop exercises reasonable care while providing its services.

Any claim relating to accidental damage must:

  • be reported within twenty-four (24) hours;
  • include photographs where reasonably available; and
  • allow Silvermop an opportunity to inspect the alleged damage.

Silvermop shall not be responsible for:

  • ordinary wear and tear;
  • hidden defects;
  • deterioration due to age;
  • improperly installed fixtures;
  • pre-existing damage;
  • damage resulting from inaccurate instructions provided by the Client.

Where Silvermop accepts responsibility, our liability shall generally be limited to repairing, replacing or compensating for the affected item, subject to applicable law and any agreed contractual limitations.

23. Limitation of Liability

23.1 To the fullest extent permitted under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Silvermop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or relating to the use of our website or services.

23.2 Silvermop shall not be liable for:

  • Loss of profits or business opportunities;
  • Business interruption;
  • Loss of goodwill or reputation;
  • Loss or corruption of electronic data;
  • Delays caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

23.3 Where Silvermop is found liable for any claim, our liability shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Client for the specific service giving rise to the claim, except where otherwise required by applicable law.

23.4 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Nigerian law.

24. Insurance

Silvermop maintains appropriate insurance cover for its operations where commercially practicable.

Clients are responsible for maintaining adequate insurance for their premises, fixtures, fittings, equipment, valuables and personal belongings.

Where a Client requires evidence of insurance before commencement of work, such request should be made in writing before the scheduled service date.

25. Indemnity

The Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Silvermop, its directors, officers, employees, contractors and agents against any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses arising from:

  • inaccurate information supplied by the Client;
  • unsafe conditions at the premises;
  • breach of these Terms;
  • unlawful activities occurring at the premises;
  • third-party claims arising from the Client’s actions or omissions.

This indemnity shall survive termination of the agreement.

26. Confidentiality

Silvermop understands that our personnel may enter private residences, offices, schools, healthcare facilities and other confidential environments.

Accordingly, we take reasonable steps to ensure that information encountered during the course of providing our services remains confidential.

Our employees and contractors are expected to:

  • respect client privacy;
  • avoid unauthorised disclosure of confidential information;
  • refrain from copying or sharing documents or data encountered during service delivery.

This obligation continues even after completion of the service.

27. Photography and Marketing

Silvermop may occasionally take photographs or videos of completed work for quality assurance, staff training or marketing purposes.

We will not intentionally capture personally identifiable information or images of occupants without prior consent.

Where photographs of a Client’s premises are intended for advertising, social media, our website or other promotional materials, Silvermop will obtain the Client’s consent before publication.

Clients may withdraw consent at any time for future marketing use.

28. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights relating to the Silvermop brand, including our:

  • name;
  • logo;
  • website;
  • service descriptions;
  • photographs;
  • graphics;
  • videos;
  • blog articles;
  • marketing materials;
  • software;
  • documents; and
  • other content,

remain the exclusive property of Silvermop or its licensors.

No part of our content may be copied, reproduced, distributed or used for commercial purposes without our prior written permission.

29. Website Use

Visitors to our website agree not to:

  • attempt unauthorised access to our systems;
  • introduce malicious software;
  • interfere with website security;
  • scrape or harvest information without permission;
  • use our content unlawfully;
  • impersonate another individual or organisation.

Silvermop reserves the right to suspend or restrict access where misuse is suspected.

30. Privacy

Silvermop processes personal information in accordance with applicable Nigerian data protection legislation, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA) and guidance issued by the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC).

Our collection, use, disclosure, retention and protection of personal information are governed by our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

31. Force Majeure

Silvermop shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform obligations resulting from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • flooding;
  • fire;
  • severe weather;
  • strikes;
  • civil unrest;
  • terrorism;
  • epidemics or pandemics;
  • government restrictions;
  • power failures;
  • transportation disruptions;
  • equipment failure despite reasonable maintenance.

Where practicable, affected services shall be rescheduled.

32. Suspension or Refusal of Service

Silvermop reserves the right to suspend, postpone or refuse services where:

  • payment obligations have not been met;
  • the premises are unsafe;
  • abusive or threatening behaviour is directed towards our personnel;
  • illegal activities are observed;
  • access cannot reasonably be obtained;
  • continuation of work would breach applicable law.

33. Termination

Either party may terminate an ongoing service agreement by providing reasonable notice in accordance with the applicable contract or subscription plan.

Termination shall not affect:

  • accrued payment obligations;
  • confidentiality obligations;
  • indemnities;
  • intellectual property rights;
  • dispute resolution provisions;
  • any rights that have already arisen.

34. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

35. Dispute Resolution

Silvermop believes disputes should be resolved fairly, efficiently and in good faith.

Accordingly, the parties agree to follow the process below:

Step 1: The parties shall first attempt to resolve any dispute through good-faith negotiations.

Step 2: Where negotiations fail, the dispute may be referred to mediation.

Step 3: If mediation is unsuccessful, either party may commence legal proceedings before a court of competent jurisdiction in Lagos State, Nigeria.

Nothing in this clause prevents either party from seeking urgent interim relief where necessary.

36. Amendments

Silvermop may amend these Terms from time to time to reflect:

  • changes in law;
  • changes in our services;
  • operational improvements;
  • regulatory requirements.

The latest version will always be published on our website with the updated effective date.

Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

37. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is declared invalid, illegal or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

38. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any applicable service agreement or quotation, constitute the entire agreement between Silvermop and the Client concerning the relevant services.
